Meet the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is already an off-roading legend known for its abilities when it comes to tackling the toughest of trails.

Jeep loves to top itself though, so they’ve come out with a special edition version of the Wrangler Rubicon known as the Recon.

Custom Jeeps in Roswell, Georgia

How is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Different?

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon features:

  • An upgraded front axle – the tubes on the front axle have been strengthened
  • Enhanced rock rails – the rock rails have been shortened, so the Recon can fit up to 35-inch tires
  • Heavy-duty cast differential covers

The Recon’s climbing capability is (figuratively) out-of-this-world with a crawl ratio of 73.1:1 with a six-speed manual. The Recon features impressive Dana 44 axles, which offer a 4.1 axle ratio. The axles send power through the transfer case with a low-gear ratio of 4:1.

You can tell that the Recon isn’t your average Jeep Wrangler just by looking at it. There’s a noticeable half-inch lift, and this special-edition Wrangler features Low Gloss Granite Crystal-painted aluminum wheels and 32-inch off-road tires. The Recon also wears a striking, Low Gloss Black grille with Low Gloss Black off-road bumpers. Capping off this stunning appearance is a dual-vented Power Dome hood.

There’s even a winch-capable steel front bumper with removable end caps. The Recon is designed to climb and conquer almost every obstacle in its way.

While the outside of the Recon is designed for extreme off-roading, the interior offers luxurious features for total comfort and convenience including black, leather-trimmed, heated front seats, all-weather slush mats, and the Jeep Connectivity Group, Power Convenience Group, and automatic temperature control.
